The Best In The Winter Slam, announces its particpants...
Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 3:18PM HOUSTON, TX Warriors Elite Sports announced its field today for the first ever The Best In The Winter Slam presented by Warrior Elite Sports to be held at League of America from January 21-23, 2011.
Over 65 teams representing 10 cities will be competing this year, including 6 from the AAU's national rankings. Three of those schools are ranked in the top 10. Some games from the 2011 Winter Jam will be broadcasted live via the Internet.

ing include #2 5th Grade RYTES Warriors (Houston, Tx), #3 7th Grade Defenders Select (Houston, Tx), #13 5th Grade New Orleans Revolution (New Orleans, La), #3 6th Grade Tulsa Bulldogs (Tulsa, Ok) and #11 Prime Time Select (New Orleans, La).
"The Best In The Winter Slam will feature some of AAUs best teams along with some of the best players in the country," said Lamar Holt, President of the RYTES Warriors Foundation. "This year's event will be the start of something new for Houston as the top teams and elite players in the country will visit Houston to be a part of the The Best of The Winter Slam experience."
The 2011 event will feature some of areas top players such as the Fab 5, Eden Holt, Jalen Preston, Noah Thomas, Jamal Bieniemy and Derrick McDonald (5th Grade Warriors - Holt/ Houston, Tx), Carsen Edwards (7th Grade Defenders Select / Houston, Tx), DeVeion Harmon (BU Allstarz / Houston, Tx), Issac Allen (The Rookies, Houston, Tx) and Willie Lester (Okalahoma Magic / Putnam City, Ok).
In addition to the game, Warrior Elite Sports are challenging all fans to "White Out" the League of America complex on bracket play Sunday by wearing white t-shirts($10) that will be sold at the basketball facility on all three days of the tournament. The event takes place on Sunday, January 23 at the The Best In The Winter Slam tournament. Warrior Elite Sports will produce two more AAU tournaments of this magnitude this year.
